Meet Our Chefs

Chef Tenzin 

Tenzin O'Connor 

My goal became to bring back the tradition of home-cooked meals, encouraging more people to enjoy family time through cooking together. I wanted to revive the old ways of cooking, making it a shared, joyous activity for families everywhere.

​

Growing up in a small village in Tibet, life was like stepping back in time by a hundred years. From a young age, around four or five, I started working in the fields, engaging in various tasks like planting vegetables, cooking, planting crops, and feeding the chickens and cows. Life there required hands-on work for everything; nothing came pre-packaged or pre-prepared.

 

I was raised by my grandparents and my uncle, who became my biggest inspiration. He was my teacher, guide, and companion. He showed me how a simple vegetable could be transformed into a beautiful meal. His positive and spiritual outlook on life taught me to connect deeply with the soil and to cook healthy meals. His influence sparked my love for cooking, and soon I was preparing meals for my family and friends. 

 

Seeing the joy and satisfaction on their faces when they enjoyed the food I made inspired me further. I realized I wanted to share this experience with more people, to show them that they too could create beautiful, healthy meals with simple ingredients. I noticed that many people had forgotten the joy of a family meal, often opting to eat out instead.

Chef Madan Lal

Madan Lal

"Follow your dreams because they come true, if you have the courage to pursue them". This statement is true for me. I am really happy and excited to even think of sharing my story of how I went from a simple village boy to a professional chef and having international exposure in the industry gives my dreams bam because I want to be an international chef.

 

When it comes to introducing myself, very proudly I say that my family is my strength and inspiration. My Mother is an awesome cook. She is always in high demand on every special occasion among the other family members and relatives due to her cooking passion and great cooking skills. My passion for cooking is influenced by her. In my teenage years, I always enjoyed working with her in the kitchen.

 

In terms of studies, after passing Higher Secondary and  realizing my passion and interest, I joined the Hotel Management diploma course & completed in 2007 then I started my culinary journey professionally.  The journey was not without its challenges. Long hours in the kitchen, demanding instructors, and the pressure to succeed pushed me to  limits. But with each setback came a lesson learned, and with each triumph came a renewed sense of purpose and determination.


 

In conclusion, I truly believe that the kitchen is a place where one can learn not only about food but about life. My culinary voyage so far has not only made me strong but also more humble. Every day brings new responsibilities and innumerable opportunities to learn and grow. It is my thirst for knowledge and deep love for culinary art that keeps me interested day by day.
